This Privacy Policy explains how SOLVESHOP ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use SOLVEpad (the "Service"), available at solvepad.solveshop.com.

1. Information we collect

When you create an account and use SOLVEpad, we collect:

Account information — your email address and a securely hashed password, managed through our authentication provider, Supabase.
Note content — the text, formatting, and images you create within your notes.
Billing information — if you subscribe to a paid plan, our payment processor Paddle collects and stores your payment details. We do not see or store your full card number.
Basic technical information — standard web server logs (such as IP address and browser type), collected automatically by our hosting provider for security and reliability purposes.

2. How we use your information

To provide, maintain, and improve SOLVEpad.
To sync your notes across your devices.
To process subscription payments and manage your billing status.
To send essential account emails — such as email confirmation and password reset links.
To respond to support requests you send us.

We do not use your note content for advertising, and we do not sell your data to anyone.

3. Where your data is stored

Your account information and note content are stored in a Postgres database operated by Supabase, with encryption in transit (HTTPS) and at rest. Images you add to notes are stored in Supabase's file storage. A copy of your notes is also cached locally on your device (in your browser's IndexedDB) so SOLVEpad continues to work offline — this local copy stays on your device and is not transmitted anywhere beyond syncing with Supabase.

4. Third-party services

SOLVEpad relies on a small number of trusted service providers to operate:

Supabase — authentication, database, and file storage.
Paddle — subscription billing and payment processing. Paddle acts as the merchant of record for paid plans.
Vercel — application hosting.

Each of these providers processes data only as necessary to provide their respective service to us, under their own privacy and security policies.

5. Data retention and deletion

We retain your account and note data for as long as your account remains active. If you'd like your account and all associated data permanently deleted, contact us using the details below and we will process your request promptly.

6. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete the personal data we hold about you. To exercise any of these rights, contact us — see Section 9 below.

7. Children's privacy

SOLVEpad is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 13.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.

Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of SOLVEpad, a note-taking and calculation tool operated by SOLVESHOP ("we," "us," or "our"). By creating an account or using SOLVEpad, you agree to these Terms.

1. The service

SOLVEpad is a notes application with built-in inline calculations, designed for engineers and professionals who need a quick scratchpad for notes, ideas, and math. We may add, change, or remove features over time.

2. Accounts

You need an account to use SOLVEpad. You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity that happens under your account. Please notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.

3. Plans and billing

Free plan — includes up to 2 editable notes. Additional notes beyond this limit become read-only until you upgrade.
Pro plan — a paid subscription that removes the note limit and unlocks features such as note sharing and PDF export, billed through Paddle, our payment processor and merchant of record.
Subscriptions renew automatically each billing period until cancelled. You can cancel anytime from your account, and your plan remains active until the end of the current billing period.
Refunds, if any, are handled according to Paddle's standard refund policies.

4. Your content

You own the notes, text, and images you create in SOLVEpad. We don't claim any ownership over your content. You're responsible for what you store in SOLVEpad and for ensuring you have the right to store and share any content you upload.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to use SOLVEpad to store or distribute unlawful, harmful, or infringing content, or to attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorized access to the Service or its infrastructure.

6. Intellectual property

The SOLVEpad name, logo, and software are the property of SOLVESHOP. These Terms don't grant you any rights to our trademarks or branding beyond what's needed to use the Service normally.

7. Termination

You may stop using SOLVEpad and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, with notice where reasonably possible.

8. Disclaimers

SOLVEpad is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. While we work hard to keep the Service reliable, we don't guarantee it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at all times. Calculation results are provided as a convenience — please verify any results used for critical engineering decisions independently.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, SOLVESHOP shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of SOLVEpad.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Iowa, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of SOLVEpad after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

Nubs

Nubs is the official mascot of SOLVESHOP. The name traces back to the company's earliest days, when the founder — working out of a rented workshop on the west side of Ames, Iowa — sketched a llama in the corner of every design document. No one asked why. No one needed to.

The llama, it was understood, represented something. Patient. Sure-footed. Completely unbothered by tight tolerances. When his mom finally asked what the llama's name was, the answer came without hesitation: Nubs. The reason for this name has never been recorded, and is no longer considered a relevant question.

Nubs has appeared on every internal document, napkin sketch, and whiteboard diagram produced by SOLVESHOP since the beginning. He does not speak. He does not offer opinions. He is simply present — watching, in the way that only llamas can watch.

His appearance in SOLVEpad continues a tradition that predates the app by several years and is expected to outlast it by considerably more.
